Sevenoaks Reel Club (Scottish Country Dancing)

Members and guests meet for a friendly and informal evening of dancing on Tuesdays from 8.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m starting the new season on 16th September 2008. We meet in the exceedingly fine modern Kippington Hall, Kippington Road, Sevenoaks. Most dances are walked through, but there are no formal lessons. Visitors are always very welcome to join us. Unfortunately, we are unable to take absolute beginners as basic instruction is not given, but we will be very happy to put them in touch with a local teacher so that they can become familiar with the basic steps and some simple dances before joining us.

Sevenoaks Ladies Joggers
The Sevenoaks Ladies Joggers is run to give local ladies a chance to jog within Knole Park and the surrounding areas for fitness and friendship. It started four years ago and now has a membership of over 70 ladies aged from 23 to 69. In the last two years 6 ladies have trained for and completed the London Marathon, having never run before joining the group. This year I have 4 ladies who are currently in the final training phase for London. A further 4 are training for a half marathon.

However, the bulk of the group do not race, but just like to run 3 to 5 miles once or twice a week and enjoy the social aspect of the group as much as the fitness. Many of the women who have joined the group have found it a life changing experience, either assisting them to lose weight, fight depression, gain confidence to get a new job or just feel good about themselves again. And this is in addition to all the positive fitness benefits gained whilst enjoying the beauty of Knole Park and the surrounding Weald countryside.
As the organiser of the group I am there to encourage support and nag where necessary to help everyone to achieve there individual goals and ensure that everyone's needs are met.
I am starting a new beginners group to help ladies get fit and lose weight for the summer. Absolutely no experience is necessary, just a sense of humour, a pair of trainers and willingness to buy a sensible bra !

The next beginners course starts on 5th March, and continues on mondays at 11.15 am. For more information or to book your place on the course please call Sam on 07801 254334 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
