The Sevenoaks Society
The Sevenoaks Society is a non-political Amenity Society dedicated to the enjoyment and improvement of the town of Sevenoaks and its surrounding countryside.

Planning. Local development policy and all planning applications are vetted by informed members of the Society, to ensure that the development of the town and district are in keeping with tradition and the wishes of the residents.

Meeting. Monthly talks, usually with slides, are held during the winter months, on a wide range of subjects of interest to members of the society. These take place at St Luke's Hall, Eardley Road at 8pm.

Environment. This group exists to encourage a wide appreciation and understanding of environmental issues.

Publications. The Society deistributes a Newsletter three time a year to members and is responsible for publication of a number of books, guides, maps, old photographs and assorted records of the town shown on the reverse. These are on sale at all Society functions.

Photographs and Archives. The Society keeps an unrivalled collection of historical photographs and memorabilia of Sevenoaks.

Footpaths. This section publishes four booklets, each of eleven walks, which are on sale at Society functions, at Tourist Information centres and at local book shops. Their aim is to ensure that all local Rights of Way are known and are kept in good condition. Members lead a walk on the second and fourth Sunday afternoons throughout the year, of about five miles.

Local History. The Sevenoaks Historical Society is associated with the Sevenoaks Society and has monthly talks in the Undercroft of St Nicholas Church at 8pm on matters of interest to members.
